Deleting your account
Last updated: [DATE].
You can delete your GenieCloud and myRaceGENIE account yourself, in the app or on the web. It is one account for both.
In the iPhone app
- Open myRaceGENIE and go to Profile.
- Under Your data, choose Delete my account….
- Read what is deleted, type delete my account to confirm, and choose Delete my account.
On the web
- Sign in at https://my.racegenie.app.
- Go to Profile, then Your data.
- Choose Delete my account…, type delete my account and confirm.
You must confirm within 24 hours of asking, or the request lapses and nothing happens.
Changing your mind
After you confirm, your account is deleted 7 days later. Until then everything keeps working, and you can cancel in the same place (Cancel the deletion). We email you when you confirm, with the date.
If you are the only owner of a team, you are asked first to make another member an owner (team site, Team and seats) or to delete the team (Settings, Team data).
Deleting your account is permanent. If you want a copy of your data, use Export my data (in the same place) first.
What we delete
When the 7 days are up:
- You are signed out everywhere: your Macs' sign-ins end, your phone's notification token is removed, and your sign-in (your Clerk user) is deleted.
- You leave every team you belong to.
- Nothing of your profile is shared with any team any more.
Then, 30 days after you confirmed, we erase:
- your profile, profile photo and public racing CV;
- your timing-sheet uploads, and the sessions, results and stats built from them;
- your personal copy of your driving, your shares and tags;
- your age and guardian-consent answer;
- your notifications, reminders and their settings;
- your name and email address.
What your team keeps
Your team owns its own records: lap times, stints, sessions, plans, notes and team video. These stay with the team. They no longer show your account's name or email address. If your team typed your name into its own driver list, that entry is the team's record; ask the team to change it.
The team's audit log keeps the fact that changes were made. It never holds your email address.
How long it takes
- Sign-in, devices and team memberships: 7 days after you confirm.
- Your own data in the live service: 30 days after you confirm.
- Copies in database backups and earlier file versions expire up to 35 days after that.
- Server logs, which contain IP addresses but not your name, are deleted after 90 days.
We keep what the law requires, such as billing records for team owners.
No access to the app?
Email team@geniemotorsport.com from the address you sign in with, and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm it is you, then do the same as above.
